The Role

PCMS Engineering provide remote analysis services to companies around the world spanning across all major industry sectors. With the launch of our new Remote Data Centre, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer to join our team and play a key role in the monitoring and analysis of plant machinery.

As an analyst, you must be self-disciplined, responsible and able to communicate efficiently, clearly and professionally. We are also looking for somebody who is passionate about condition monitoring, troubleshooting component issues and performing advanced testing.

The responsibilities

  • Perform remote vibration/oil/stress wave data analysis
  • Manage the incoming data flow to transfer the data into existing customer databases
  • Analyse the data in line with the required standards using trend, spectral and waveform data
  • Produce clear, concise and accurate written reports within our existing OMEGA reporting tool combining information from all available CBM technologies to provide the best indication of asset condition
  • Review database content and highlight areas for improvement e.g. names, points, analysis parameter sets, additional data collection points to improve fault detection, assessment of PeakVue filter settings, bearing and gear information etc.
  • Drive standards in data collection by recognising bad collection indicators in the data e.g. ski slopes, data fluctuations, missing data etc.
  • Liaise with the customer on any urgent faults or where additional information or testing is required
  • To be a central contact person for all remote customers and also PCMS service engineers during the analysis process
  • Carry out database changes in-line with the correct procedure of authorisation
  • Attend customer weekly/monthly conference calls

The Person

  • Experienced in the use of AMS suite / Omnitrend software
  • Able to proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat PDF writer
  • Must be trained/accredited to Level 2 Vibration Analysis (BINDT or equivalent)
  • Mechanical or Electrical Industry recognised qualification
  • Willing to support occasional travel
